With a playoff win on the line, Palmetto Ridge rose to the challenge on Thursday. They breezed past the Ida Baker Bulldogs to the tune of 79-45. The Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Palmetto Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Haley Cousins out in front who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Cousins has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Melody Charlton, who put up 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.

Palmetto Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Ida Baker's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maia Berdebes, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Hernandez-Castro, who went 7 of 17 on her way to 19 points.

Palmetto Ridge's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Ida Baker, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16.

Palmetto Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-36 loss against Gateway on the 7th. Ida Baker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
