The Family Christian Academy Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 72-58 fall against LaBelle. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Family Christian Academy in their matchups with LaBelle: they've now lost three in a row.
LaBelle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Williams led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight steals. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Giovanni Beaver, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Family Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-3. As for LaBelle, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-13.
Family Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwest Florida Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for LaBelle, LaBelle and Lemon Bay will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
