The Norwayne Bobcats will take on the Wickliffe Blue Devils in a tournament on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Norwayne has 14 straight wins, Wickliffe has 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
It was a proper cat-fight when Norwayne faced off against Canton South on Thursday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Norwayne took every set by at least 16 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-4, 25-8.
Norwayne's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan Lance, who had nine digs and one assist. Laney Dudte was another key player, getting seven digs and one assist.
Norwayne was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Meanwhile, Wickliffe lost 3-0 to Chagrin Falls last Thursday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 25-16.

Norwayne was able to grind out a solid victory over Wickliffe in their previous matchup back in September of 2017, winning 2-0. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
