The Lewisville Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 24 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Central with a sharp 46-22 victory on Wednesday. With Lewisville ahead 24-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Lewisville was led to victory by Mariah Wallace and Aiyana Murrell. Wallace dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 steals, while Murrell dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. The game was Wallace's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Trinity Baker was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and three steals.
Kabreyia Covington and Jordyn Griffin certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Covington scored five points along with six rebounds, while Griffin scored eight points along with five rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Lewisville and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Central, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-5.
Lewisville is on the road again on Monday and play against Whitmire at 6:15 p.m. on December 18th. Central and McBee will face off at 6:15 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
