Dylan Favre of St. Stanislaus (Bay St. Louis, Miss.) led the nation in passing yardage last year. Could another Mississippi quarterback do the same this year?
Caleb Upton of Cathedral (Natchez, Miss.) had the nation's top reported yardage total last week in a 48-34 win over Loyd Star (Brookhaven, Miss.) as he completed 23 of 37 passes for 471 yards and five touchdowns.
Upton currently ranks fourth in the nation for passing yardage among stat leaders reported by coaches to MaxPreps. Coaches can report their stats to MaxPreps by requesting a username and

Another Mississippi quarterback, Mike Williams of Lake Cormorant, also had a big game with 428 yards passing against Horn Lake. He completed 20 of 36 passes with four touchdowns.
Also throwing for over 400 yards was Maty Mauk of Kenton (Ohio), who was a perennial member of the weekly MaxPreps National Stat Stars list last year as a sophomore. Mauk threw for 451 yards and completed 37 of 60 passes with five touchdowns in a win over Coldwater (Ohio).
