Baseball Game Preview: Afton Eagles vs. Copan Hornets

The Afton Eagles will face off against the Copan Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Afton turned things around against Nowata on Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Ironmen.

Afton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Victor, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Victor a new career-high. Tyler Wyrick was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Copan waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Chieftains with a sharp 12-1 victory. Considering the Hornets have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Afton's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Copan, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
