The San Carlos Braves won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were beaten by San Tan Charter 123-51. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for San Carlos in their matchups with the Roadrunners: they've now lost six in a row.
San Carlos' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leandro Simbolo, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 3 assists. Simbolo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Leshawn Browning was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
San Tan Charter was led to victory by Zaire Richardson and Peyton Lubash. Richardson scored 22 points along with four steals, while Lubash scored 25 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Richardson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kristo Jackson, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
San Carlos' defeat dropped their record down to 19-12. As for San Tan Charter, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-3.
San Carlos does not have any more games scheduled as of now. San Tan Charter will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the CHARGERS at 3:00 p.m. Arete Prep is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.
