Softball Recap: Red Mountain Wins Going Away Against Dobson

Red Mountain's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Dobson Mustangs as they made off with a 20-2 victory. Considering the Mountain Lions have won nine matches by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Saige Peters, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those RBI were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Ftizpatrick, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

Red Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .906. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Red Mountain's win bumped their record up to 13-4-1. As for Dobson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Red Mountain will challenge Mesa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jackrabbits have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.83 runs per game on average), something the Mountain Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dobson, they will square off against Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
