The Riverview Sharks will face off against the Plant Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Riverview's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
Riverview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Sickles by a score of 15-11. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Gryphons: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Juliet Sederio, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Brooklyn Girard was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Riverview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Plant put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Armwood. The Panthers put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Summer Wood tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
At the plate, Kate Compton was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Marina Waygood, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
The victory made it two in a row for Plant and bumps their season record up to 13-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Riverview, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
Riverview's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. The Sharks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Plant, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Riverview continue to outrun the ball?
Riverview couldn't quite finish off Plant when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Sharks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
