The San Ramon Valley Wolves will face off against the Amador Valley Dons at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday. The last four games San Ramon Valley has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
San Ramon Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Carondelet on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-4. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lila McLeod spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kayden West made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Amador Valley also fell in extra-innings eight innings action on Tuesday. They fell just short of Granada by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Dons have lost by just one run.
Amador Valley also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Kaylee Davis gave up three earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Mai Falcone was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Amador Valley has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for San Ramon Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. San Ramon Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Amador Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
San Ramon Valley might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Amador Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
