The Stadium Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Auburn Riverside Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Stadium is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Stadium will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Curtis on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Vikings. The match marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season so far.
London Kim was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Joelle Clapp also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Stadium was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .567. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Auburn Riverside unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 12-5 to Tahoma. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 5, 2021, but that streak is no more.
Hannah Potter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Langford, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Stadium now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Auburn Riverside, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Stadium hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Auburn Riverside struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Stadium suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Auburn Riverside in their previous matchup back in March of 2016. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
