The Powell County Pirates will take on the Mason County Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Powell County barely beat Martin County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pirates considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Powell County let Bryson Edwards and Tucker Ramsey run wild. Edwards went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Ramsey went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jordan Delrosario was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Mason County hadn't done well against Rowan County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Royals put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 15-3 victory.
The team relied heavily on Jaxen Crabtree, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Butler, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
Mason County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rowan County only posted an OBP of .435.
Powell County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Mason County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Powell County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mason County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Powell County came out on top in a nail-biter against Mason County when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
