Basketball Recap: Adams Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ellie Ogg and Kate Fisher

Adams Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 60-43 fall against the Woodlan Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Flying Jets of the 45-44 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Kate Fisher and Ellie Ogg certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Fisher posted 18 points, while Ogg put up nine points and six rebounds. What's more, Fisher also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ava Stafford, who earned nine points and five rebounds.

Woodlan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyssa Anderson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 20 boards. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Kneubuhler, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, ten boards, and nine assists.

Adams Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Woodlan, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Adams Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-50 loss against Jay County on the 13th. As for Woodlan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-43 defeat against Bluffton on the 13th.
