Basketball Recap: Tyson Heard and Austin Senters Secure Win for Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes

After losing to R.W. Goines Stem Academy the last time they met, Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Storm managed a 57-51 win over R.W. Goines Stem Academy on Saturday. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while R.W. Goines Stem Academy are ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes to victory were Austin Senters and Tyson Heard. Senters almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, while Heard posted 13 points. What's more, Senters also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Trace Clark was another key player, putting up six points.

R.W. Goines Stem Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bryceson Melvin, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 19 points along with six assists and five boards, and Malachi Cox, who put up 11 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Mason Hervey, who had four points and four blocks.

Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for R.W. Goines Stem Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-12.

Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes has already played their next match, a 72-60 victory against North Central Texas Academy on the 14th. As for R.W. Goines Stem Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 93-63 loss against Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy on the 16th.
