The Chase County Longhorns had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They rang in the new year with a 35-26 win over Dundy County-Stratton on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Chase County also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.
Dundy County-Stratton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emily Schack, who scored five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimberly Escobar, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Dundy County-Stratton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Chase County's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Dundy County-Stratton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chase County will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Kimball on January 6th. As for Dundy County-Stratton, they will challenge Wray at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
