While Hurricane didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They secured a 45-39 W over the Tucker County Mountain Lions on Saturday. The Redskins' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Despite the loss, Tucker County still got an impressive performance from Mayah Gross, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. Raven Matthews was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 20 boards.

Hurricane pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Tucker County, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hurricane will challenge Hoover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tucker County, they will face off against East Hardy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tucker County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season.
