The Fosston Greyhounds will head out on the road to take on the Lake Park-Audubon Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Fosston suffered their biggest defeat since December 18, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-37 loss at the hands of Fertile-Beltrami. While losing is never fun, Fosston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while Fertile-Beltrami is ranked 131st).
Meanwhile, Lake Park-Audubon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 66-30 to Ada-Borup, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
This is the second loss in a row for Fosston and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Lake Park-Audubon, they bumped their record down to 5-14 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Fosston lost to Lake Park-Audubon on the road by a decisive 59-42 margin when the teams last played back in March of 2021. Can Fosston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
