King's Fork is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Indian River a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The King's Fork Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indian River Braves at 5:45 p.m. Indian River took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on King's Fork, who comes in off a win.
King's Fork will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Norview on Monday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Pilots with a sharp 10-2 win. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Josh Harris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Camden Hill was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. King's Fork is 2-1 when Hill posts three or more hits, but 5-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jha'Siah Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
King's Fork was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Indian River came up short against Denbigh on Saturday and fell 6-3.
Evan Sheppard was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kalvin Murphy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Crawford, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Indian River's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for King's Fork, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.
King's Fork couldn't quite get it done against Indian River in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 11-6. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
