Navajo Pine is 0-7 against Laguna Acoma since January of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Navajo Pine Warriors will host the Laguna Acoma Hawks at 6:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, Navajo Pine lost to Ramah on the road by a 48-34 margin. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Navajo Pine had strong showings from Faila King, who posted 21 points along with five boards and three steals, and Riley Dawes, who put up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. King has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.
Even though they lost, Navajo Pine smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Laguna Acoma entered their tilt with Rehoboth Christian on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They breezed by the Lynx to the tune of 60-21. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-8.
Laguna Acoma had a senior duo take command as Gianna Carrillo went 9 of 20 on her way to 23 points and Jazmyne Carrillo went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Brianna Carrillo, who earned seven points and seven rebounds.
Laguna Acoma has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Navajo Pine, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Navajo Pine has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 23.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Laguna Acoma struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Navajo Pine took a serious blow against Laguna Acoma in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 74-23. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Navajo Pine was down 39-15.
