Blytheville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Rivercrest Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Blytheville came up short against Pocahontas and fell 30-18.
Meanwhile, Rivercrest had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past Trumann 49-14 on the road. The result was nothing new for Rivercrest, who have now won six games by 27 points or more so far this season.
Koby Turner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 191 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Turner was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Young, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Pocahontas' win bumped their season record to 4-5 while Blytheville's defeat dropped theirs to 6-3.
Blytheville was taken down by Rivercrest 49-20 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Blytheville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
