Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monte Vista). They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Dublin Gaels on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly three runs.
Samantha Kaiman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hailey Frantz was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Lily Parikh also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Monte Vista kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
