The St. Paul Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Oswego by a score of 56-53. The result was an unpleasant reminder to St. Paul of the 55-50 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Oswego's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tanner O'neal led the charge by scoring 15 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Josh Hutchinson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
St. Paul dropped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Oswego, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-10.
St. Paul's road trip will continue as they head out to face Yates Center at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. St. Paul is facing Yates Center at the right time seeing as Yates Center is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Oswego, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southeast at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
