After a string of three wins, the Roosevelt Roughriders's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Bishop Blanchet 53-49. Roosevelt was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bishop Blanchet apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Roosevelt lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jasmine Hall. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Hall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Curtis, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Blanchet to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Campbell, who scored 16 points. Neko Joseph was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Bishop Blanchet, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will take on Holy Names Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Blanchet, they will head out on the road to face off against Garfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Garfield will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
