Ulysses Encinas, Copper Canyon's leader in stolen bases on the season, led the team again on Tuesday. Encinas wasn't messing around, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The contest was his third straight with two or more stolen bases.

Encinas' strong effort led Copper Canyon over Independence and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are at an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but likely not for long.
