Russell is 9-1 against Raceland since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Russell Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Raceland Rams at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Wheelersburg scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, Russell still came out on top. Russell took their game against Wheelersburg 66-59.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Russell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Rimmer, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elijah Neel, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Raceland scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 87-70 victory over Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Russell's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Raceland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Russell strolled past Raceland when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 61-45. Will Russell repeat their success, or does Raceland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
