Kolten Holbert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Gilmer County let Jacob Stewart and Roddick Page run wild. Stewart got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Page went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Remington Huffman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Gilmer County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Summers County and Wyoming East, and Wyoming East kept the tradition alive. The Bobcats lost 19-10 to the Warriors on Friday. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Bobcats' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Summers County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gilmer County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .503. It's a different story for Summers County, though, as they've only averaged .326. Will they be able to contain Gilmer County's hitters?
