Softball Recap: Eastmark Has No Trouble Against Clackamas

Eastmark got themselves on the board against Clackamas on Saturday, but Clackamas never followed suit. They blew past the Cavaliers 9-0. The result was nothing new for the Firebirds, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Jillian Wade was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addie Rice, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Bella Gomez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Eastmark has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Clackamas is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastmark will square off against Cactus Shadows at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Clackamas, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Parkrose at 6:00 p.m. on April 1.
