The Alameda Pirates will take on the Denver South Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Alameda's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Aurora Central as they made off with an 18-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Edwin Arroyo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Alameda's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Alameda has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .589. However, it's not like Denver South struggles in that department as they've averaged .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
