Softball Recap: Spring Valley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Spring Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Rancho Rams on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-1 win. Considering the Grizzlies have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cheyenne Stephens-Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Stephens-Davis was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Isabella Lenahan was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, nine RBI, and four runs. What's more, she posted two triples, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Lila Spada was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.

Spring Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rancho only posted an OBP of .188.

Spring Valley moved to 13-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Rancho, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Spring Valley has already played their next match, an 18-0 win against Eldorado on the 23rd. As for Rancho, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-0 victory against Desert Pines on the 23rd.
