Softball Recap: Hebron Has No Trouble Against Morgan Township

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chesterton, Hebron was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Morgan Township Cherokees. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Cherokees recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Addison Toczek made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Toczek was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macey Siminski, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Dujmovich, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI.

Hebron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hebron's record now sits at 4-5. As for Morgan Township, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hebron will square off against Kouts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs & Fillies have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Morgan Township, they will face off against Tri-Township at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cherokees are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
