There's no place like home for the Southwestern Piasa Birds, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Calhoun by a score of 55-42 on Saturday. With that win, Southwestern brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Ian Brantley was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Southwestern's points. Rocky Darr was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Southwestern is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Calhoun, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Southwestern will head out on the road to face off against Wesclin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wesclin is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Calhoun, they will square off against North Greene at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
