Baseball Recap: Enumclaw Triumphs

Enumclaw won the last time they faced White River and things went their way on Thursday too. Enumclaw won by a run and slipped past White River 4-3.

Carter Grant tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Enumclaw saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Anderson has posted since back in May of 2024. Juden Jones was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Enumclaw's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for White River, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enumclaw will head out to square off against Decatur at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Gators will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for White River, they will take on Beamer at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
