The Seymour Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Waterbury Career Academy 69-44. Seymour has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season.
Seymour was led to victory by Skylar Barton and Jillian Keough. Barton dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Keough almost dropped a triple-double on 19 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. Keough hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Mia Cunningham, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malahzia Weaver, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janele Lawrence, who scored 11 points.
Seymour pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21 points. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will take on Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they will be playing at home against Crosby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
