Cedar Creek has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Timber Creek Regional Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Cedar Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Wall Township, taking the game 33-20.
Billy Smith was a one-man wrecking crew for Cedar Creek as he threw for 338 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per attempt. Darius Benjamin did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Timber Creek Regional put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 42-12 win over Robbinsville at home. The result was nothing new for Timber Creek Regional, who have now won five games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Victor Oquendo went supernova for Timber Creek Regional, throwing for 444 yards and six touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. Marcus Upton also helped out as he racked up 156 receiving yards.
Their wins bumped Cedar Creek to 7-3 and Timber Creek Regional to 9-0.
Cedar Creek took their win against Timber Creek Regional in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 28-7. Does Cedar Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Timber Creek Regional turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
