It was a good run, but the Dillon Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Loris by a score of 78-75. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (60), Dillon still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Dillon still got an impressive performance from Zamaurious Robertson, who scored 35 points. Those 35 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jazier Walker, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Dillon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Loris, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dillon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Aynor at 8:00 p.m. on January 11th. Aynor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Dillon is ranked 106th). As for Loris, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Waccamaw at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Waccamaw is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
