The Cheney Tech Chargers will face off against the East Windsor Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Cheney Tech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Cheney Tech took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Ben Milvae made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Milvae was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other pitching news, Gavin Hoynes looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Thomas Fortunato, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He has become a key player for Cheney Tech: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Malik Mendez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Cheney Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, East Windsor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stafford. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 4-0 in the first period.
Sam Glemboski was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Elias Jacobs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Dominic Ludwig also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Cheney Tech now has a winning record of 6-5. As for East Windsor, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cheney Tech has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like East Windsor struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
