Jacob Kunsman was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, Austan Runtas looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
Back at the plate, Connor Zorn was a standout: he scored two runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Parker Dalcamo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Conneaut Area suffered their closest defeat since April 18, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Greenville by a score of 4-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Ashton Headley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Slippery Rock has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs this season. As for Conneaut Area, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
