Miranda Rodriguez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Aliyah Carranza and Lesly Castaneda did most of the damage at the plate: Carranza got on base in all four of her plate appearances with eight stolen bases and four runs, while Castaneda went 3-for-4 with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Carranza continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emelie Bello, who went 1-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Alhambra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .829. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .582 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Metro Tech lost 25-1 to Fairfax on Thursday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alhambra's record is now 3-4. As for Metro Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Alhambra couldn't quite finish off Metro Tech when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 20-18. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
