Softball Recap: Galt Has No Trouble Against Bear River

After losing to Bear River the last time they met, Galt decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Bruins on Saturday. Considering the Warriors have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Evianna Barrera made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Barrera was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, Rianna Mayer was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Emily Pe?a was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Galt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Galt's record now sits at 4-2. As for Bear River, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Galt has already played their next matchup, a 14-4 victory against McNair on the 9th. As for Bear River, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-8 win against Wheatland on the 10th.
