The Reagan Bison and the Hialeah Thoroughbreds squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the Reagan Bison had to settle for second. They fell to the Thoroughbreds 32-28. Reagan has struggled against Hialeah recently, as their game on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Reagan saw an underclassman step up: Sophia Naranjo-palma scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals. Naranjo-palma has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Reyes, who scored 13 points.
Reagan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Hialeah, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Reagan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hialeah, they will face off against Homestead at TBD on Wednesday. Homestead's defense has only allowed 24.6 points per game this season, so Hialeah's offense will have their work cut out for them.
