It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Arrowhead Christian Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Western Christian 28-27. The victory was just what Arrowhead Christian needed coming off of a 20-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
Arrowhead Christian was led to victory by Connor Thuilliez and Caden Rossi. Thuilliez threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, while Rossi gained 137 total yards and three touchdowns.
Several Fighting Lancers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jared Doolittle, who threw for 401 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. Elijah Vasquez was another key contributor, picking up 221 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Arrowhead Christian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.4 points per game. As for Western Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.
Arrowhead Christian will take on Riverside Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Western Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Linfield Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.
