D East recap October 8, 2013
Dexter was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in D East. The Tigers beat Mount View 34-13 earlier in the week.
Maine Central Institute extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating John Bapst Memorial, 41-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Huskies.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Bucksport's Matthew Stewart and Josh Gray have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-9 quarterback Stewart has thrown for 363 yards this season, while Gray has 12 catches for 200 yards. The Mustangs' Steven Davis leads the league in rushing yards with 563.
A big matchup in D East this week will be when Dexter takes on Orono. At the moment, Kevin Armstrong's team is in fourth, while the Riots are in fifth.
The Golden Bucks and Orono played the closest game in the league this week, with the Golden Bucks eventually emerging with a 24-20 victory.
