The Dakota Valley Panthers and the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Dakota Valley sitting on five straight victories and Sioux Falls Christian on nine.
Last Saturday, Dakota Valley didn't have too much trouble with Andes Central/Dakota Christian on the road as they won 66-50.
Dakota Valley found their leader in underclassman Ella Otten, who scored 28 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Otten has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aubree Worden, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Sioux Falls Christian faced Tea in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sioux Falls Christian came out on top against Tea by a score of 82-73 on Tuesday. Sioux Falls Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Dakota Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Sioux Falls Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
Dakota Valley came up short against Sioux Falls Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 60-48. Can Dakota Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
