Having just played yesterday, the Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters will get right back to it and host the George Washington Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Abraham Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully the Eagles like a good challenge.
Even though West Philadelphia scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, Abraham Lincoln still came out on top. Abraham Lincoln managed a 61-57 victory over the Speedboys.
Abraham Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Montgomery, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Aldonis Martin, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, George Washington was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 51-47 to the Pioneers. George Washington has not had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
George Washington might have lost, but man, Aidan Berry was a machine: he went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Berry has scored all season. Anderson Dorvil was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
Abraham Lincoln pushed their record up to 9-10 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for George Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
Abraham Lincoln strolled past the Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2017 by a score of 81-62. Does Abraham Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
