Volleyball Recap: Salt Lake Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Salt Lake Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Wasatch Academy Tigers on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Griffins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

One reason for the win was Salt Lake Academy's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-7.

Among those leading the charge was Jeisabe Gutierrez, who had eight digs and five aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

Gutierrez wasn't the only good server: Salt Lake Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 21 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wasatch Academy only served four aces.

Salt Lake Academy's record now sits at 6-8. As for Wasatch Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Salt Lake Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Dugway on the 12th. As for Wasatch Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Merit Preparatory Academy on the 12th.
