If the Goleman Gators were riding high off their 84-26 takedown of International Studies last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Goleman was dealt a 95-40 loss at the hands of Hialeah Gardens on Tuesday. Goleman was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 65-30.
Marcelo Bautista and Michael Gonzalez certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Bautista scored 12 points, while Gonzalez scored nine points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bautista has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Ewing, who scored two points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hialeah Gardens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Perez, who scored 37 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Pupo, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 assists.
Goleman's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Hialeah Gardens, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Goleman will head out on the road to square off against Carol City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hialeah Gardens, they will be playing at home against Hialeah at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hialeah is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
