Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Maddox, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Clinton's defense and their five sacks. Ryker Armes refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Jaxon Herrell was another major factor on D, making 16 total tackles (2.5 for loss).
Meanwhile, West didn't have quite enough to beat Halls on Friday and fell 20-17.
West's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clinton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Clinton was dealt a bruising 37-3 defeat at the hands of West in their previous meeting back in August of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Dragons were down 37-3.
