The Bessemer City Tigers lost to the Central Falcons back in October of 2022, but The Bessemer City Tigers didn't allow the Central Falcons the same satisfaction on Friday. Bessemer City came out on top against Central by a score of 28-21.
Bessemer City can attribute much of their success to Christopher Whittsett, who rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns. That's the first time this season that Whittsett rushed for 100 or more yards. Cederian Moore was another key contributor, rushing for 59 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from David McNeil, who rushed for 89 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 125 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes.
Bessemer City's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Central, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.
Bessemer City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central is also done with their season.
