Baseball Recap: Morse Extends Winning Streak to Four

Morse had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Brunswick Dragons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Shipbuilders also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Jackson Murray was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Colin Verrill also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Morse pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Brunswick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Morse has already played their next matchup, a 16-1 victory against Lincoln Academy on the 2nd. As for Brunswick, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-2 win against Bangor on the 30th.
