If the Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers were riding high off their 65-45 takedown of the Huntingdon Bearcats last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Philipsburg-Osceola lost to the Rangers on the road by a decisive 69-51 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Philipsburg-Osceola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 608th, while the Rangers are ranked 115th).
Leading Forest Hills to victory were Koy McGough and Dylan Stohon. McGough scored 17 points along with six steals, while Stohon scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Stohon is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Brandon Gregovich, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Philipsburg-Osceola has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Forest Hills, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Philipsburg-Osceola will take on the Marauders at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Guilfoyle knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully the Mountaineers like a good challenge. As for Forest Hills, they will head out on the road to take on the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bellwood-Antis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
